A New Year to SERVE!

Every year we make a list of goals we would like to accomplish throughout the New Year, it's called a resolution. The most common resolutions are: getting into shape/eating healthier, lose a bad habit, getting out of debt/saving money, help others, spend more time with family, and enjoy life more.

One of these could be in your list of goals for this year; I know two of them are in mine list. This list helps your human nature or flesh, but what about a spiritual resolution list? A spiritual resolution list will help your walk with God, feed more of your soul, and will be a life changing experience to help in all areas of your life.

...you must choose for yourselves today
whom you will serve...As for me and my family,
we will serve the LORD.
Decide to serve God and start serving Him today. What does it mean to serve God? Serve is an act as a servant. If you need further assistance it's okay the concordance in your Bible will help you understand more. There are a lot of scripture that speaks on serve and servant.

Get ready to be transformed into a new person by God, this year!! Here a spiritual resolution list that will help you on your journey.
  •  Read and study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in a year. (There are a lot of free resources that can help you on this)
  • Increase your prayer life. Pray more on a daily basis throughout your day.
  • Find a prayer partner. Prayer partner is another believer Christ. (Matthew 18:19-20)
  • Get involved! Be active in the Church ministry.
  • Be a better mom or father. (Check the role of a mother or a father in the Bible)
  • Be a better wife or husband. (Check the role of a wife or a husband in the Bible)
  • Be a better YOU! (Check the role of a woman or a man in the Bible)
  • Know what your spiritual gifts are and put them to great work, to further the kingdom of Heaven. (refer to spiritual gifts in the Bible)
  • Join a Bible study
  • Fellowship with other believers
  • Meditate more on His word daily.
  • Listen and sing praises to Him.
This spiritual list can go on but if you had to decide from this list in what areas would you like to work on that will help you in your journey with God? (Pause and take a second to jot down a spiritual resolution list for you this year.)

I hope you chose ALL, because you can't do more than one, they all kind of together. If you're not already doing these things recommit yourself to being a faithful servant to God and start working on it today. Every day will be different, but if you keep at this before you know it will come natural to you.

Start your day with God and end your day with God. Open your heart and mind this year for God and start serving Him.

Father, cultivate our hearts, oh Lord, prepare our way to serve you day by day for every day, forever and ever. In Jesus' name, Amen!!
