X Marks The Spot

For where your treasure is,
there your heart will also be.

As a little girl, during the summer time, I would always see these jet streams lines in the sky. The jet stream lines I remembered would either be small, parallel, faded, or to far away to even notice what they once were. On this beautiful day, I was heading to have a lunch date with my hubby, when I captured this enormous X in the sky.

I could not help but to think of a pirate saying, "Aarr, X marks the spot, matey." But than I thought God is showing me something here. So I immediately opened my iPhone Bible app and searched the words "treasure in heaven." There were a few verses that spoke of those similar words. But there is a story called "The Rich Young Man" in the Bible that talks about "treasure in heaven."

This story reveals a rich young man, who basically went to Jesus, asking what more good deeds he could do to get into heaven. When Jesus answered, the rich young man walked away, because he didn't want to sacrifice the way he was of living, to follow Jesus.

The reason I believe God had painted this beautiful picture of an X, was to remind me to keep following His Son, Jesus Christ. There are things personally I don't want to give up, but that's it. I need to sacrifice myself daily in order to be shaped into God's image to follow Jesus. It's recreating my character. The X in the sky was a reassurance to focus on my relationship with Him. My heart and mind should ponder on His words daily and apply it to my life.

Oh Father, I thank You, for revealing these little glimps of images to reflect on You and Your word to help me in our journey together. In Jesus' name Amen.
