Presenting Faithful Savers

Why This...

It all started back in May 2011, after settling into our home in Mineola, Texas. One evening with Scott, my hubby, we were watching a television show "Extreme Couponing" on TLC. Our response was jaw-dropping from seeing how much money these people were saving by only using coupons and the massive hauls from their shopping cartS.

Being a helpful partner to my hubby in all areas in our lives, including finances, I strive to model Proverbs 31:11-12. I decided to take the coupon challenge and focus my shopping at our local Walmart. After researching and learning how to use coupons the way these "extreme couponers" do, I thought to myself throw away that accordion my mama used when I was little, because this has nothing on that. (smile).  Also I had to gain the knowledge of the store policy on the coupons and price ad match, which would be a great method to get extra savings.

Why Now...

Faithful Savers started in August of 2011, and at that time we were just another coupon group. Over the months coming into the new year 2012, there was something missing. I would start our monthly class with a prayer, also would share the Bible verse of the month, and than get started on talking about coupons and the deals for that upcoming week. I was missing the biblical principals, I was missing John 3:30
"He must become greater; I must become less."

and

whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

By these scriptures, God laid on my heart that this could be transformed into a ministry than just another coupon group.

After pondering and meditating on this, I realize that I needed to teach three major biblical principals to help apply to our teaching of saving money. These biblical principals would be learning how to handle money, becoming a good steward, and giving with a cheerful heart. By understanding and applying these values, we can grow to become a better godly couponer/price ad matcher.

I will help and share all the tips and cleaver strategies, that will benefit you to save even more money on your shopping experience. This will be a life changing experience by learning, understanding, and applying the values and tips into your every day life.

Our mission as a Faithful Saver is "Spreading God's love to others by saving money."
