Ministries on a mission will be a feature article.
For the month of June, I would like to introduce and feature
Grand Staff Ministries.
What connects mission work in Swaziland, a Christian singer/songwriter, and a get-away on the prairie? One word:
Service.
"Do you have the gift of [service to] others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies.
Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Christ Jesus.
All glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen."
1 Peter 4:11b NLT

Founders of Grand Staff Ministries, Becky and Tracy Spencer {Buhler, KS}, has been dear long friends of my family. I remember meeting Becky and her family when I was a young teenager. The memory I have was when they came to perform for a local church in the small town, I lived at. I remembering thinking during their performance, how cool it was to know people who performed in a church. {smile}
I never thought I would be reconnected with her and her family as a sister in Christ, until God led me to her last year. {Praise God} The Spencers are full of faith, and displays God's love toward others by their service. Whether it is at their home, their bed and breakfast, their church, their mission trips, or in their daily routine life, they bring the word "service" to a joyful and enjoying term.

Exploring the Life of a Dying Nation
Swaziland. A kingdom of a million people with the highest incidence of AIDS in the world.Experts estimate that almost half of the population is plagued with the disease.
About 200,000 children have been stripped of their parents.
And 20% of the children in this kingdom have to fend for themselves with no adult present to feed them or send them to school.
The people of Swaziland are on the brink of extinction.
And in troubled times, education falls by the wayside.
Unsupervised, uneducated children fall prey to the behaviors that lead to disease and destruction.
If only given the opportunity, the priceless knowledge gained in school could be the key to reversing the spread of AIDS and the decline of the nation.
